Steiner sofa - VERNEUIL

Post-Bauhaus design, leather or fabric

General Presentation

The VERNEUIL sofa by Steiner explores the contrast between between the rational and the emotional, the structured and the organic. Inspired by the post-Bauhaus International Style, it draws from the great design icons of the 20th century. However, it introduces a contemporary sense of ease. Its geometric base creates a clear, rational structure. In contrast, the cushions break that strict line, adding fluidity and a more expressive form. The VERNEUIL sofa is not fixed in time — rather, it is a shape designed to evolve while staying meaningful.

Design & Finishes

VERNEUIL sofa explores the tension between structure and release. The outer silhouette defines a clear, assertive frame. Inside, the cushions gently overflow, creating a sense of lightness and movement. This formal dialogue shapes the sofa’s distinct personality. A tubular steel base, bent and finished in polished chrome, subtly lifts the entire piece, giving it an airy relationship to the ground. Every joint, every proportion is calibrated with silent precision — an understated elegance built on structural clarity.

Comfort & Ergonomics

Rather than compromising between comfort and form, VERNEUIL balances the two. Its firm, grounded seat is complemented by freer, more sculptural cushions that support the body without interrupting the visual flow. A matching headrest extends the user experience, echoing the sofa’s initial geometry. Here, comfort isn’t an add-on — it’s embedded in the design, making this a sofa to live with as much as to look at.

Materials & Upholstery

The design combines a clean architectural frame with a bent tubular steel base in chrome finish, reinforcing the sofa’s visual lightness. Upholstery options — leather, fabric, or a refined mix of both — serve as a tactile extension of the concept, balancing graphic tension with softness.

Configurations

The VERNEUIL sofa by Steiner is available in three formats: 2-seater, 3-seater, and Love Seat.
